My First Design System
This was the first project I completed for the National Food & Beverage Foundation, which ended up being the reason they hired me and, eventually, made me their Creative Director. Being able to create every single asset myself was not only a lot of fun but also an incredible lesson in brand continuity.
NATFAB is a non-profit organization with little funding to put towards a dedicated graphic designer, so the role is usually filled by volunteers and interns (except for when I worked there, when it was filled by me). This results in high turnover rates and difficulty maintaining a consistent branding system between designers. This was the motivation behind creating a design system for Nitty Grits. I built all the assets in Illustrator then created a design system within Canva complete with typefaces, templates, graphic elements, colors and logos which made designing beautiful content for Nitty Grits a streamlined process.
